Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco
The tugboat “Hercules” towed ships and barges up and down the Pacific Coast. She is now one of the exhibits of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and is to be found moored at the park’s Hyde Street Pier.
The “Balclutha” is a steel-hulled full rigged sailing ship built in 1886. The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park now preserves her. Moored at the Hyde Street Pier she is National Landmark and is opened to visitors.

The Palace of Fine Art was the centerpiece for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was rebuild in 1965 Today it is a popular tourist attraction and host many art exhibitions.

Columbus and Transamerica Buildings
The Columbus Tower and the Transamerica Pyramid are both located in San Francisco on Columbus Avenue. The Transamerica Pyramid, built in 1972, is the tallest building in San Francisco. It once housed the Transamerica Insurance Company. Columbus Tower or the Sentinel Building was built in 1907. This flatiron building is the headquarters for Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope Studio.
The Sentinel Building or Columbus Tower is on the corners of Columbus Ave and Kearny St, San Francisco. This distintive green flatiron building is now the headquaters for Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope Studio.

The Castro is located on Castro Street in San Francisco, CA. The theatre was built in 1922 and is one of the few remaining movie houses still in use from that period.

Golden Gate Bridge
“Golden Gate Bridge from Baker Beach” The Golden Gate Bridge spans the Golden Gate Strait between San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean. This suspension bridge is 1.7 miles long and 90 feet wide. The two towers reach 746 feet above the water. Baker Beach is public beach and is part of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

“Hoppers Hands” is located at Fort Point, under the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco. This sign offers inspiration to runners as a turn-around point. Thousands of joggers have been touching the plaque since Ken Hopper posted it in 2000 .

Death Valley
This photo was taken moments before sunrise from Zabriskie Point Lookout, Death Valley National Park. The foreground of this scene shows the Badlands formations, Manly Beacon, Death Valley and the Panamint Range in the distance. The photo was captured with a Canon 1D Mark IV and a Canon 24-70mm L lens set to 70mm.

Racetrack Playa is one of Death Valley most interesting and scenic locations. Rocks on the dry lakebed slide leaving racks in the sediment after rainstorms.
Teakettle Junction is in Death Valley National Park, near the Racetrack Playa, and Ubehebe Crater.
At the junction there is a sign reading “Teakettle Junction,” with many teakettles that visitors have attached to it.
Firefalls
Horsetail Fall is a waterfall that flows over the edge of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley. For two weeks in February, the setting sun striking the waterfall creates a deep orange glow that resembles Yosemite’s historic “Firefall.”
