Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Fort Wadswoths and Battery Weed
The Verrazano–Narrows Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge that connects the New York City boroughs of Staten Island and Brooklyn. Construction started in 1959 and the bridge opened in 1964. Fort Wadswoths and Battery Weed are now part of the Gateway National Recreation Area and maintained by the National Park Service.
