Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco
The tugboat “Hercules” towed ships and barges up and down the Pacific Coast. She is now one of the exhibits of the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park and is to be found moored at the park’s Hyde Street Pier.
The “Balclutha” is a steel-hulled full rigged sailing ship built in 1886. The San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park now preserves her. Moored at the Hyde Street Pier she is National Landmark and is opened to visitors.

Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Yorktown
The Yorktown CV-10 was commissioned on April 15, 1943. It’s participation in the Pacific Theater during World War II helped defeat the Japanese and bring an end to the war. The Yorktown has received the Presidential Unit Citation and earned 11 battle stars for its service during WWII. During the Vietnam War she earned 5 more battle stars. The ship is 888 feet long and can reach 30 knots. The Yorktown was decommissioned in 1970 and became a museum ship at Patriot’s Point, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Yorktown was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
Annisquam Harbor Lighthouse
Annisquam Harbor Light Station is a historic lighthouse on Wigwam Point in the Annisquam neighborhood of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Annisquam Lighthouse was used as a filming location in the movie “The Women” starring Meg Ryan. The lighthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
