Casino Arcade in Seaside Heights, New Jersey has one of the last operating Dentzel Looff Carousels in the country. This 1910 carousel has 58 hand carved animals. 35 of them are moving horses, 18 stationary horses, 2 camels, 1 lion, 1 tiger, and 2 chariots. Most large carousels have 36 to 40 animals. The center of the carousel is decorated with 15 original paintings and a Wurlitzer Military Band organ. It is 25 feet tall and 54 feet wide. This one of a kind merry-go-round is considered the “Rolls Royce” of Carousels.
Casino Pier is located in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. The pier was partially destroyed during Hurricane Sandy, 2012. The pier has been rebuild and the amusement park reopened in the summer of 2013. In this scene you can see the “Wave Swinger”, “Pirate’s Plunge” and “Disc’o.
